Most people approach the Windermere area from Kendal along the A591. If you are travelling this way then as you enter Windermere turn left at the Nat West bank (signposted “Windermere Town Centre, Bowness Town Centre”). Follow the one-way system through the centre of Windermere and continue down the hill towards the Lake. Toward the bottom of the hill you enter Bowness. Go straight across the mini roundabout, then take the first left,just before “Riva Restaurant”. You are now on Kendal Road. May Cottage is 300 yards along, on right-hand side, just after the Cranleigh. Our private car-park is down the driveway at the rear of our B&B.
If you are travelling by train then bus service 599 is every 20 minutes and will take you to Ferry Pier in Bowness, 3 minutes walk from May Cottage. A taxi ride will be around £5.
